Only a day after the launch of our Kickstarter campaign, our game FORCED has been selected as a Staff Pick and appears at the top of Kickstarter’s Staff Picks page! Very nice!  We are already 11% funded, and I hope being a staff pick helps us get some added attention early on to really get this project… kickstarted.  aaah

“Forced” is now on Steam Greenlight! If enough people like it, we’ll get published on Steam. We’ve worked hard, but the game is finally near it’s completion. Now I need your help. Visit FORCED’s Greenlight profile, enjoy our videos and give us a thumbs up with your Steam-user, and leave a comment if you want:D

You can also learn more about the game on http:www.forcedthegame.com, and like FORCED on Facebook!

I’m presenting my paper on Power-ups and Player Experience at the DiGRA conference 2011 this week. My abstract and speaker profile are now up on the conference site, if you want to check it out. I’ll link to the article in the digital proceedings later when those are out, in case you want to read it:) Also, check out the abstract of Fares Kayali on level design practices, the speaker I’ve been “matched” with. The rule-based match format is something new at this year’s conference, where two speakers with something in common can have a more open conversation with the audience. The conference is at Utrecht School of the Arts in the Netherlands. Looking forward to it!

Neanderthunk wins Jury’s Choice Award at NGJ

My team at the Nordic Game Jam, Team Pomelo, received a Jury’s Choice Award from pixeltamer.net founder Jasmin Kassner Orthbandt for our game “Neanderthunk” developed during the weekend January 28th to 30th. The game is a take on this year’s jam theme “Extinction”, where you play a Neanderthal pushing a boulder up a steep mountain – with your brain and an EEG reader. The more you are able to concentrate, the better he will push. Provided you have a Neurosky Mindset to read your brain waves, Neanderthunk can be downloaded and played for free here.

I had an amazing time at the event, and I’m really happy to have had the opportunity to work with such talented people. The team consisted of Troels Jørgensen, Magnus Poppel, Anders Hartvig Hartzen, Mads Peter Vedsten Larsen, and Filip Lange-Nielsen (me)! I had the pleasure of making the music and sound effects for the game. If you feel like it you can listen to the “main theme” here!
